A Profile That Lets The Strip Disappear

Most LED strip profiles sit shallow and close to the surface, so you can still make out each individual diode as a line of little dots. This one is different. It is a deep recessed profile, which means the strip sits further back inside the channel before the light reaches the diffuser. The result is a softer, more even wash of light, with the aluminium and the fixings themselves fading into the background.

This listing is for the 2 metre length. It measures 2000mm long, 34.2mm wide and 28mm deep, made from anodised aluminium with an opal plastic diffuser that clips into the top. Anodising gives the aluminium a hard, consistent finish that resists marking during handling and installation. End caps are not included and need to be ordered separately to neaten off the cut ends once the profile is fitted.

How It Works

LED strip runs inside the aluminium channel, which acts as a housing and a basic heatsink. Because this profile is deep rather than shallow, there is more distance between the strip and the diffuser lens on top. That extra distance lets the light spread out before it exits, so the diffuser is doing more of the work of blending the individual LEDs together. You get a continuous glowing line rather than a row of pinpricks.
