The Driver Behind the Colour Change
Some products do their job quietly, out of sight, and the CCDRV100RF is one of them. It's the power and control unit that sits behind an RGB or RGBW LED strip or fitting, sold separately, turning a simple on and off circuit into something that can shift through colour on command.
What You're Getting
This is the 100W version of Collingwood's colour change RF driver. It has a built in RF receiver, so once paired with the right remote or control system, colour changes can be sent wirelessly instead of through a separate signal cable. Output is 24V DC constant voltage, split across four channels, each rated up to 4.16A, giving 100W in total. It measures 244mm by 64mm by 32mm, so it's a compact, manageable box to fit into an installation.
How It Works
Mains power comes into the driver and is stepped down to 24V DC constant voltage, then split across four channels feeding red, green, blue, and, on RGBW setups, white. The built in RF receiver picks up colour change commands sent wirelessly, so there's no need to run a signal cable back to a separate controller. On its own, the driver produces no light at all. It's the RGB or RGBW strip or fitting connected to it that actually glows.
Where It Works Best
Because it's IP20 rated, this driver is for indoor use only, fitted somewhere dry such as a loft space, a cupboard, above a ceiling void, or inside a cabinet, with the LED strip or fitting it feeds run out to wherever the colour change effect is wanted. For a single room or feature running one colour change zone, this driver works on its own. For bigger installations spanning several zones that all need to change colour in sync, such as a run of strip lighting through multiple rooms, Collingwood's PR3002 power repeater is added into the system to keep everything working together.
The Collingwood Name
Collingwood Lighting designs and builds its LED systems, including drivers like this one, from its base in Sywell, Northamptonshire, and has focused on LED technology since 2002. Drivers are the unsung part of any colour change LED strip or fitting setup, and Collingwood says it was among the first to bring fire rated, fully sealed, and mains dimmable LED products into the UK electrical wholesale market. The company has also been awarded a Gold medal by EcoVadis, placing it in the top 5% of companies assessed globally for sustainability.

Questions People Ask
Does this driver include the LED strip or fitting?
No. The CCDRV100RF is the driver only. The RGB or RGBW LED strip or fitting it powers is sold separately.
Can it be used outdoors?
No. It's IP20 rated, so it needs to be installed indoors, somewhere dry.
Does it dim as well as change colour?
Yes. Alongside colour changing, this driver supports dimming, so brightness can be adjusted as well as hue.
What if I need to cover more than one zone?
For larger RF installations spanning multiple zones that need to stay in sync, Collingwood's PR3002 power repeater is used alongside this driver.
