A Handcrafted Wooden Marker For Driveways And Paths
The BL03 is a bespoke wooden bollard light, built to mark out a driveway, a garden path or the edge of a patio with a warmer, more natural look than a typical metal or aluminium fitting. It runs three LEDs from a single integral driver and wires straight to the mains, so there is no separate transformer to plan for. Each one is made to order in the UK.
Choose Your Wood, Head Shape And Cable Entry
You can specify the BL03 in Iroko, Oak or Sapele, three timbers that each weather and age a little differently outdoors. The head comes in a domed, chamfered or pointed profile, so the light spills from a slightly different angle depending on which you choose. Cabling can enter through the base for a straightforward surface mounted install, or through the side if you are recessing the bollard into a prepared footing.
How It Works
- Triple LED, 5W, running at 80 CRI for accurate colour rendering
- Choice of 2700K, 3000K or 4000K light colour
- 110 degree beam angle, wired in parallel across the three LEDs
- Integral driver, wired straight to the mains with no separate transformer needed
- Class II construction, so it does not require an earth connection
- IP65 rated, sealed against rain, damp ground and general outdoor weather
Where It Works Best
The BL03 suits driveways, front paths and garden borders where you want low, directional light rather than a bright feature. Space a run of them along the edge of a drive to guide the eye at night, or use a single bollard to mark a step, a gate or the start of a path. Because the light sits low and close to the ground, it works well alongside planting and gravel without competing with it.
About Collingwood Lighting
Collingwood Lighting designs and manufactures its LED products from Sywell in Northamptonshire, and has specialised in LED technology since 2002. Collingwood states it was among the first brands to bring fully sealed, waterproof for life LED fittings to the UK electrical wholesale market, which is the same thinking behind a bollard built to live outdoors in all weathers. The company has also been awarded a Gold medal by EcoVadis, placing it in the top 5% of companies assessed worldwide for sustainability.

Questions People Ask
- Does the BL03 need a separate driver or transformer? No. The driver is built into the fitting and it wires straight to the mains.
- What is the difference between base entry and side entry cabling? Base entry brings the cable up through the bottom for a surface mounted install, while side entry is designed for a recessed installation into a prepared footing.
- Will the wood change colour outdoors? Left untreated, Iroko, Oak and Sapele will all weather to a silvery grey finish over time. Oiling or treating the timber will keep it closer to its original colour.
- How long does the BL03 take to arrive? Because each one is made to order in your chosen wood, head shape and cable entry, lead times typically run from 25 to 50 working days.
- Is the BL03 suitable for a driveway edge? Yes. It is IP65 rated and designed to sit outdoors year round, making it a common choice for lining driveways and garden paths.
