A Neat Finish for Any LED Strip Run
The SM7 is Collingwood's slim surface mount profile, a shallow aluminium channel that takes a bare run of LED strip and turns it into something that looks properly built in. Instead of tape stuck straight to a wall or shelf, the strip sits inside a protected channel with a soft, even glow along its length.
Anodised Aluminium, Built to Sit Flush
This profile is anodised aluminium, just 17.5mm wide and 7mm deep, so it stays low profile under cabinets, in coving or along a shelf edge without standing proud. It comes with a translucent plastic diffuser that fits over the top, softening the light and hiding the individual diodes so you see a clean line of light rather than a row of dots.
How It Works
LED strip clips into the recessed channel and the diffuser snaps on over the top to close it in. End caps are fitted as standard, so cable can exit cleanly at either end instead of leaving a raw opening. The profile is supplied in 1m or 2m lengths, and a mounting bracket and linear connector are sold separately if you need to fix it at intervals along a run or join two lengths into one.
Where It Works Best
This is the profile to reach for wherever LED strip needs to look intentional rather than stuck on. Common spots are under kitchen wall cabinets, inside a plasterboard coving detail, along the underside of a floating shelf, or recessed into joinery. It's built for dry, indoor runs, so keep it away from bathrooms, outdoor spaces or anywhere it could get wet.

Can I join two lengths of this profile together?
Yes, a linear connector is available separately and is designed to join two lengths of the SM7 profile into a continuous run.
Does it come with the diffuser fitted?
The translucent diffuser is included with the profile and simply clips on over the LED strip once it's in place, rather than arriving pre-fitted.
Can I use this with IP68 rated LED strip?
No, this profile is not compatible with IP68 rated strip, so it should only be used for dry, indoor installations.
How is the profile fixed in place?
It can be fixed directly along its length, and a separate mounting bracket is available if you need to secure it at intervals, for example along a longer run.
