Five Cores, One Cable, Full Colour Control
This is Collingwood's 5 core PVC cable, sold by the metre for wiring between RGBW light fittings. Each fitting ships with a flying lead built in, but that lead is only ever so long. When the next point or a junction box sits further away than the lead can reach, this cable is what carries the connection on.
Copper Cores Built for RGBW
The cable is built with copper conductors running through five individual cores inside a single PVC sheath. RGBW fittings need five separate feeds, red, green, blue, white and a common return, and running them through one cable keeps the wiring tidy instead of laying five separate cables side by side.
How It Works
Cut a length to match the run you need, then connect each of the five cores to its matching terminal on the fitting or connector at either end, keeping the colours consistent from one length to the next. Because it's sold per metre, you only buy what the installation actually needs, whether that's a short extension between two fittings or a longer run back to a junction point.
Where It Works Best
Reach for this cable wherever an RGBW fitting's own flying lead falls short, extending a run between ceiling or wall mounted fittings, linking back to a junction box, or connecting through to the next fitting in a run of colour changing lights. It works equally well indoors or as part of an outdoor lighting scheme, tucked away in a wall void, ceiling void or cable duct rather than left on show.
Collingwood: British LED Design Since 2002
Collingwood Lighting designs and manufactures its LED products from Sywell in Northamptonshire, and has specialised in LED technology since 2002. Cable like this sits behind the scenes of the brand's wider RGBW and LED strip systems, the connecting piece that makes a multi fitting colour changing installation work as one. Collingwood has also been awarded a Gold medal by EcoVadis, placing it in the top 5% of companies assessed globally for sustainability.
