Brightness Without Glare
This final Cedar variant brings together polished nickel that catches light with smoked glass that gently diffuses it. The result is a 250cm pendant that feels bright and contemporary without the clinical quality of pure clear glass. Thirteen E14 holders thread light through grey sculpted glass shades, creating an effect that's energetic but not harsh. It's the sweet spot for people who want proper illumination but prefer their light to feel a little softer.
Choosing Your Finish
Polished nickel is cool and contemporary in tone. Smoked glass is neutral grey rather than warm or cool, which means the two work together without fighting for visual attention. If you find smoked glass too grey, the same Cedar frame is available with clear or amber tinted glass instead.
How It Works
Thirteen E14 bulb holders are wired to Class I standards throughout, requiring an earth connection for safe installation. The smoked glass reduces light output slightly compared to clear, but the polished nickel frame is reflective enough that you don't lose much brightness in practice. The fitting adjusts between 50cm and 250cm from the ceiling.
Where It Works Best
This works beautifully in contemporary kitchens where stainless steel and chrome are already part of the palette. The smoked glass takes down the intensity compared to clear glass, so it's equally at home over a dining table as over a working kitchen island. Anywhere you want light that's generous and bright but not interrogation room bright.
Design Details
The polished nickel frame shines and reflects, which gives it visual energy even when the pendant is switched off. Once lit, the smoked glass shades become their own feature: each one is fluted and sculptural, and the grey tint means the glass itself becomes visible as something with presence, not just transparent housing for the bulbs. The overall effect is refined and carefully balanced.

Questions People Ask
How does this compare to the polished nickel with clear glass?
The clear glass gives you maximum brightness and a more formal, crisp look. This smoked version softens the light and makes the glass itself more of a design feature, which appeals to people who want brightness without austerity.
Is the grey glass cool toned or warm toned?
It's neutral, truly grey. It doesn't add warmth like cognac glass, but it doesn't feel cold either. It's just visually calming while still letting plenty of light through.
Would this work if I have both cooking and dining in my kitchen?
Yes. With dimmable bulbs and a dimmer, you can run it at full brightness for cooking tasks and dial it down for meals. The smoked glass already takes some of the edge off compared to clear, so even at full brightness it won't feel aggressive.
