Warm Light and Polished Metal Across a Long Space
This 225cm pendant trades brass for polished nickel and pairs it with cognac sculpted glass bells. Polished nickel is cooler and more reflective than brass, giving the fitting a more contemporary, sometimes slightly industrial feel. Combined with the warm cognac tint of the glass, you get an interesting contrast between cool metal and warm light.
Choosing Your Finish
Polished nickel has a bright, reflective quality that catches light throughout the day, making the fitting visible even when it's switched off. The cognac glass adds a warm, honey coloured glow once lit. This combination works particularly well in kitchens with stainless steel appliances or modern metallic finishes elsewhere. Other finishes across the Cedar range include different metals and glass colours if this combination doesn't suit your space.
How It Works
Twelve E14 bulb holders are arranged along the 225cm length, each accepting bulbs up to 20W, with cognac glass bells above them. The pendant is Class I rated, requiring an earth connection, and carries an IP20 rating for dry indoor use in kitchens, dining rooms, bedrooms, and living spaces. The light spreads evenly across your work area thanks to the even spacing of the twelve sources.
Where It Works Best
The polished nickel finish makes this pendant particularly suited to contemporary kitchens, especially those with other brushed or polished metalwork. The warm cognac light output tempers the coolness of the metal. It's at home above kitchen islands, dining tables, or in open plan living areas where you want a strong focal point. The adjustable 50cm to 250cm drop means you can fine tune the height to suit your ceiling and furniture.
Design Details
There's a sophisticated interplay here between the reflective nickel frame and the translucent cognac glass. The metal itself becomes part of the visual composition, catching ambient light and adding to the sense that this is a carefully considered piece. The bell shaped glass adds both function and form, shaping the light while being a decorative element in its own right.

Questions People Ask
Is polished nickel the same as chrome?
They're similar in appearance, both being bright and reflective, but polished nickel has a slightly softer, warmer tone compared to the stark brightness of chrome.
Will polished nickel need special care?
A soft, dry cloth is usually enough to keep the surface looking its best. It's worth avoiding abrasive cleaners, which can dull the finish over time.
Does the warm cognac light clash with polished nickel?
Not at all, it's a complementary pairing. The cool metal provides visual interest while the warm light creates a welcoming atmosphere.
