A Long Run of Warm Amber Light
At 180cm, the Cedar linear pendant is built to stretch across and illuminate an entire kitchen island or dining table in a single, confident sweep. Nine E14 bulbs sit behind cognac toned glass shades, housed in a brass frame that catches light and glints warmly throughout the evening. The sculpted glass texture ensures the light doesn't flatten out but instead bounces off the surfaces, creating depth and visual interest.
Choosing Your Finish
The brass frame here is warm and rich, paired with cognac glass that filters the light into warm amber tones rather than letting it pass through clear. This combination is particularly good if your kitchen or dining room already has warm metalwork, wooden cabinetry or earth toned furnishings that you want to complement. The glass finish carries a subtle sculpted pattern that catches light differently from every angle.
How It Works
Each of the nine positions holds an E14 bulb, rated to 20W maximum. The long, low hanging design means light is distributed evenly along the entire length rather than concentrated in a central spot. It's wired to Class I standards, needing an earth connection during fitting. The IP20 rating indicates it's for dry indoor use only and should be kept away from splashing or damp environments.
Where It Works Best
This pendant lives over kitchen islands and dining tables where a single central pendant would leave parts of the surface shadowed. It also works beautifully in open plan kitchen diners, above a long breakfast bar, or in a dining room where you want the lighting itself to be part of the room's focal point rather than hidden away in a corner.
Design Details
The Cedar's strength lies in how it balances horizontal proportion with visual interest. The nine individual glass shades prevent the fitting from reading as an industrial strip light, while the brass frame stops it feeling fussy or overly decorative. It's the kind of piece that works in everything from farmhouse kitchens to clean lined contemporary spaces, provided the colour temperature suits your existing metalwork.

Questions People Ask
Can I adjust how low it hangs?
Yes. The Cedar is suspended on cables that adjust between 50cm and 250cm drop, so you can position it close to your countertop or table, or hang it higher if you prefer. Most people find 80 to 100cm above a worksurface gives the best balance of light distribution and headroom.
Will it light a whole kitchen?
As a task light over an island or dining table, yes. If you're expecting it to light an entire kitchen, you'll likely want additional lighting elsewhere, perhaps wall lights or ceiling downlights, depending on your kitchen's size.
Does the cognac glass look very orange?
The cognac tint is subtle enough not to make everything look orange, but noticeable enough to warm the light compared to clear glass. If you prefer the bulbs to show more clearly through the glass, the Cedar also comes in a clear version.
