Most planters try to disappear behind the plant. This one does not. Matte black steel and perforated steel mesh form an open sided frame that reads as much like a piece of furniture as a plant stand, with a solid steel base underneath to catch any water overspill.

The frame itself comes in a single matte black finish, but the signature coin screws that hold the mesh panels in place are supplied in both steel and brass, so you can set the tone of the hardware detailing yourself, or mix both across a run of planters for a less matched look.

How It Works

Steel legs support a mesh lined tray with a solid steel base that stops water pooling on the floor beneath. The base is solid rather than drained, so it catches overspill rather than letting it run away, which suits potted plants kept in their own pot rather than planting straight into the tray. It is made for indoor use only, since prolonged exposure outside will cause rusting over time. When it is not holding plants, the same tray works as open storage for books, magazines or anything else you would rather have on display than hidden in a cupboard.

Its slim depth suits a hallway, an alcove, or the end of a sofa, and the modular design means two or three can be placed side by side to build a longer planting run or a room divider without buying a single oversized piece.

Does it have drainage holes?
No. The base is solid steel and designed to catch water overspill, so it works best with a plant left in its own pot rather than potted directly into the tray.
