Not every Forked pendant is built around glass. The Forked Shade Pendant swaps the globe for a solid, hand spun metal dome, so the light stays hidden inside and only the shape and the finish do the work.

Choose Your Finish

This one comes in four finishes: Brass, Steel, Gun Metal and Burnt Steel. Burnt Steel is the one to look at closely, its surface is heat treated so it shifts between blue, purple and bronze depending on the light, while the other three stay closer to a single, consistent tone.

How It Works

Because the shade is solid metal rather than glass, it uses a Punch Bulb, a dimmable puck shaped LED fitted inside the shade rather than a visible filament bulb. It takes an E27 base, runs up to 7W, and is wired for 220 to 240V at IP20. Dimming needs an LED compatible dimmer switch, such as the ones Buster + Punch sells, and the cable is adjustable up to 3000mm, shortened only by a trained electrician.

Where It Works Best

At 340mm across and 205mm deep, this Large shade throws a focused pool of light straight down, better suited to a dining table or kitchen island than general room lighting. The Medium version is smaller if you want something less dominant, and if you'd rather have the light on show instead of hidden, the Globe versions swap this solid shade for handblown glass.

Massimo Buster Minale spent his days as an architect on projects for firms like Richard Rogers before spending his evenings in a Shoreditch garage, building and customising motorbikes. Buster + Punch grew directly out of that contrast, professional discipline during the day and hands on tinkering at night, and the Forked range still carries both halves of that habit in its cast fork details and its solid, unfussy shades.
