The Forked Ceiling Smoked Globe Shade pairs a solid metal dome with a handblown smoked glass globe, so the light that comes through reads dimmer and moodier than a clear or opal glass would give you. Diamond cut linear knurling and cast fork detailing carry through the fitting above it, the recurring signature of the wider Forked range.

It comes in Brass, Burnt Steel, Gun Metal or Steel. Against the dark smoked glass, Brass stands out the most, Gun Metal nearly disappears into it for a more monochrome look, Steel keeps things bright and cool, and Burnt Steel sits somewhere between the two with its own shifting tone.

How It Works

The dome shade is hand spun metal, cast and machined alongside the rest of the fitting and refined by hand afterwards. The handblown smoked glass globe sits underneath, taking the edge off the light rather than diffusing it to full brightness. It ships with the dimmable Buster Bulb, an E27 LED rated up to 7W, wired for 220 to 240V AC and rated IP20 for dry indoor use.

Where It Works Best

This is the Large size, built for rooms with more scale, a dining room, a living room with higher ceilings, or anywhere a smaller fitting would look lost. The Medium size in this same shade and globe is the better fit for tighter spaces. As the ceiling mounted version, it sits flush with no drop, where the Pendant version of the same shade and globe hangs lower on a cable instead.
