Not every circuit needs dimming, but plenty of rooms still want every knob on the plate to match. This dummy dimmer module is built to sit behind a Buster + Punch detail kit and look exactly like its dimming neighbours, while actually working as a simple two way on/off switch underneath.

Choose Your Finish

This is a behind the plate component, so it has no finish of its own. It's designed to sit under whichever detail kit, knob and coin screws you've already chosen for the rest of the plate, in steel, brass, black, white or any other Buster + Punch finish, so every knob on a multi gang switch reads as one matching set.

How It Works

Inside, it's a straightforward push on/off mechanism wired for two way switching, rated at 230V AC, 50Hz, with a maximum load and current rating of 6A. There's no dimming circuitry at all, which means no soft start and no minimum load to worry about, just a clean on and off behind a knob that looks identical to the dimmers around it.

Where It Works Best

Reach for this on a multi gang plate where one circuit, a fan, an extractor, a non dimmable fitting, doesn't support dimming but you still want visual consistency across the whole switch. Pair it with the standard dimmer module where a circuit does need dimming, and with the three way intermediate version where that same non dimmed circuit needs switching from more than one location.

Buster + Punch calls its switches modular for a reason: the plate, the module and the detail kit are three separate parts, which is exactly what makes a component like this possible. Founder Massimo Buster Minale built the company in 2013 around parts he'd machined himself for motorbikes in a Shoreditch garage, and that same logic, build it properly, build it so parts can be swapped, still shapes even a small module like this one.
