This is the working part of a Buster + Punch dimmer, the mechanism behind whichever detail kit you've chosen, and it's built with a wider compatibility than the standard module: alongside Buster + Punch's own lighting, it's designed to work with a broad range of third party lighting products too.

As a module, this has no finish of its own, it's fitted behind a separately chosen wall plate and detail kit. Pick whichever Buster + Punch finish and knurl suits your room, and this module does the actual dimming underneath it.

How It Works

It's a push on/off rotary mechanism, smooth and silent in use, wired two way on 230 to 240V AC at 50Hz. It dims LED bulbs from 5 to 120W, or incandescent and halogen from 60 to 400W, using trailing edge dimming by default with simulated leading edge available, and includes an intelligent soft start that eases each circuit up over a second or two rather than snapping it to full brightness. It isn't compatible with non dimmable fittings, CFLs, electric motors, retractive switches or Buster + Punch's multipoint dimmers.

This is the module to choose if your lighting scheme mixes Buster + Punch fittings with other manufacturers' dimmable LED products, since it's built for that wider compatibility. If everything on the circuit is already Buster + Punch lighting, the standard module covers the same 120W range at a more accessible price point.

The idea of a swappable module like this comes straight from founder Massimo Buster Minale's years building motorbikes in a Shoreditch garage, where a part that could be replaced or upgraded mattered more than one bolted in for good. Buster + Punch, started in 2013, built its entire switch range around that same logic: plate, detail kit and module as three separate parts, so a component like this can be fitted or swapped without touching the rest of the switch.
