The Quiet Circuit

Not every lamp should switch on with the rest of the room, and the 5A round pin socket exists for exactly that reason: it runs on a separate lighting circuit, controlled independently from the general power sockets on the wall, so a floor lamp or table lamp can be switched from a dedicated point rather than a plug that competes with everything else.

What's Included

This is a module rather than a complete plate, built to the 50mm size and designed to sit within Buster + Punch's UK 50mm Euro Plates system. It comes in Black or White, fitted into a plate alongside other modules to build a plug and switch combination specific to the room.

How It Works

A 5A round pin socket wired to a dedicated lighting circuit rather than the standard 13A ring main, so it only powers whatever is plugged into it on that circuit, typically controlled by a separate wall switch.

Where It Works Best

Suited to a living room or bedroom with table lamps or floor lamps on a switched circuit, letting one wall switch control every lamp plugged into 5A sockets around the room.

Buster + Punch's founder Massimo Buster Minale spent his evenings in a Shoreditch garage building motorbikes from parts he'd machined himself, long before he started the company in 2013.
