Brass warms things up with a bit of shine against the darker plate. Steel gives a cooler, sharper contrast. Every option shares the same Linear Knurl grip, just in a different metal.

How It Works

Four independent two way toggle switches sit behind the one plate, each rated 250V, 10A, 50Hz. There's no dimming, just a firm on or off flick, and since each toggle is its own circuit you can run four separate lights or fittings from a single plate.

Where It Works Best

A smoked bronze 4 gang plate works well somewhere the finish can be appreciated up close, a snug, a study, a dressing room, or a kitchen with several circuits landing in one place. If you need fewer switches together, the same Linear Knurl range comes in 1, 2 and 3 gang toggle plates too.

Made By Buster + Punch

Founder Massimo Buster Minale set up Buster + Punch in 2013, having trained as an architect at practices including Foster and Partners before leaving to build custom motorbikes by hand in a Shoreditch garage. That same instinct for machining rather than moulding runs through the switches, every plate and toggle is cut from solid metal, which is what gives a finish like smoked bronze its depth.

What does a smoked bronze finish look like next to brass or steel toggles?
Smoked bronze is a darker, warmer tone than steel and slightly deeper than brass, so a brass toggle will stand out with a bit of shine, while steel gives a cooler, more contrasting look.

Is this the same switch as the Cross Knurl smoked bronze version?
The plate, switch modules and electrical rating are the same. The difference is purely the pattern on the toggle arm, fine straight ridges here on Linear Knurl versus the diamond cut Cross Knurl.
