This is the 4 gang dimmer switch in black from Buster + Punch's Linear Knurl range, a solid black back plate holding four independent rotary dimmer modules, each knob finished with a row of fine straight ridges rather than the brand's original diamond cut Cross Knurl pattern.

The back plate is black either way. The dimmer knobs and collars come in Black for a switch that reads as one solid block on the wall, Brass for warmth against the dark plate, or Steel for a cooler contrast.

How It Works

Each of the four rotary dimmers has an electronic soft start and two way switching, so lights fade up gently rather than snapping on. Every dimmer handles LED loads from 5W to 120W or incandescent and halogen loads from 60W to 400W, at 230 to 240V, 50Hz. The four modules are independent circuits, so one plate can dim four separate lights or zones.

A 4 gang dimmer suits a room with several lighting circuits to control together, a kitchen diner with ceiling lights, pendants over an island, under cabinet lighting and accent lighting, for instance, or an open plan living space. Massimo Buster Minale left architecture, having worked at practices like Foster and Partners, to build motorbikes from scratch in a garage in Shoreditch. Will this dimmer work with any LED bulb?

Can I use non dimmable bulbs on this switch?
Non dimmable bulbs aren't recommended on a dimmer circuit as they can flicker, hum or fail early. Use bulbs marked as dimmable for the best result.

Is Linear Knurl the same switch as Cross Knurl underneath?
Yes. Both use the same black back plate and dimmer modules. The only difference is the surface pattern on the knob, straight ridges for Linear Knurl, a diamond cut pattern for Cross Knurl.
