The steel back plate stays the same either way. What changes is the toggle arm and collar. Pick Steel for a tonal, all metal look that sits quietly on the wall, or Brass for a warmer contrast against the cooler steel plate.

How It Works

Each toggle is a simple two way switch, rated at 250V, 10A, 50Hz, with no dimming function. Because the three toggles are wired as independent circuits, one plate can control three separate lights or circuits from a single spot on the wall.

Where It Works Best

A 3 gang plate suits a room with three things to control at once, kitchen ceiling lights, under cabinet lighting and an extractor fan, for example, or a living room with several lighting circuits. If you only need to control one or two circuits, the single and double gang versions in the same Linear Knurl range use the same toggle arm and finish options.

Buster + Punch was founded in 2013 by Massimo Buster Minale, an architect who had worked at practices including Foster and Partners before trading the drawing board for a garage in Shoreditch, where he began building custom motorbikes by hand. The habit of machining every part rather than buying it in stuck, which is why every switch in the range is solid metal, machined and finished, not stamped steel or moulded plastic.

Questions People Ask

Is this a dimmer switch?
No. This is a 2 way toggle switch for simple on and off control, not a dimmer. If you want to dim your lights, look for the Dimmer version in the same range.

What's the difference between Linear Knurl and Cross Knurl?
Nothing electrical. Both use the same steel back plate and toggle mechanism. Linear Knurl has a run of fine straight ridges on the toggle arm, while Cross Knurl has a diamond cut pattern. It comes down to which detail you prefer.

Can I mix Steel and Brass toggles on the same plate?
Each plate is supplied with one finish choice for all three toggles, so it isn't possible to mix Steel and Brass toggle arms within a single 3 gang plate.
