This is Buster + Punch's 3 gang toggle switch in Black, fitted with the new Linear Knurl detail on the toggle arms, a run of fine straight ridges rather than the brand's original diamond cut Cross Knurl pattern. Three independent toggles sit behind one solid Black plate, each one switching its own lighting circuit on or off.

Choose Your Finish

The Black plate stays fixed, while the toggle arms come in three finishes. Black keeps the whole switch reading as one dark, solid block on the wall. Brass brings a warm contrast against the darker plate. Steel gives a cooler, more industrial look. All three are machined from solid metal.

How It Works

Each toggle is a simple on and off switch, no dimming, rated at 250V, 10A, 50Hz. There's no shared circuitry between the three, so each toggle switches its own lighting circuit independently of the other two.

Where It Works Best

A 3 gang toggle plate suits a room with three separate lighting circuits to control from one spot, a kitchen with ceiling lights, under cabinet lighting and an extractor light, or an entrance hall feeding several rooms. If you need fewer or more circuits, the same Black, Linear Knurl finish also comes in single, 2 gang and 4 gang toggle versions elsewhere in the range.

Buster + Punch began in 2013, when architect Massimo Buster Minale left practices including Foster and Partners to hand build motorbikes in a garage in Shoreditch. He machined every part himself rather than buying components off the shelf, and that habit carried straight into the switches the brand makes now, solid metal, machined, not moulded.

Does each toggle control a separate circuit?
Yes, each of the three toggles is fully independent, switching its own lighting circuit on or off without affecting the other two.

Is this the same switch as an intermediate toggle?
No, this is a simple two way on/off toggle for a standard circuit. An intermediate toggle is a different type of switch, used where a circuit needs to be controlled from three or more locations, such as a staircase or long hallway.

What's different about the Linear Knurl toggle arm compared to Cross Knurl?
The plate and switching hardware are the same either way. Linear Knurl has fine straight ridges on the toggle arm, while Cross Knurl has a diamond cut cross hatch pattern.
