Three Dimmer Circuits, One Smoked Bronze Plate

This is Buster + Punch's 3 gang dimmer switch in Smoked Bronze, fitted with the new Linear Knurl detail, a run of fine straight ridges across the dimmer knobs in place of the brand's original diamond cut Cross Knurl pattern. Three independent dimmer modules sit behind one solid Smoked Bronze plate, so you can control three separate lighting circuits from a single switch position.

Choose Your Knurl Finish

The Smoked Bronze plate stays fixed, but the knurled knobs come in three finishes. Smoked Bronze keeps the whole switch reading as one solid block of dark metal. Brass brings a warm contrast against the darker plate. Steel gives a cooler, more industrial edge. All three are machined from solid metal, so the choice is really about how much contrast you want on the wall.

How It Works

Each of the three dimmer modules is a rotary dial with electronic soft start built in, plus two way switching so you can turn the circuit fully on or off as well as dim it. Together they handle LED bulbs from 5W to 120W or incandescent and halogen bulbs from 60W to 400W, running on a standard 230 to 240V, 50Hz supply. Turn the knob to dim, press it to switch the circuit off completely.

Where It Works Best

Three gang plates like this suit rooms with several lighting layers worth separating out, a kitchen with pendants, downlights and under cabinet lighting, or a living room where ceiling lights, lamps and a picture light all want their own control. Buster + Punch was founded in 2013 by Massimo Buster Minale, an architect who had worked at practices including Foster and Partners before he left to build custom motorbikes by hand in a garage in Shoreditch. He machined every part himself instead of buying it in or moulding it in plastic, and that same approach is why this dimmer is solid metal rather than stamped steel or plastic.

Questions People Ask

What's the difference between Linear Knurl and Cross Knurl?
Both use the same plate and module hardware. The difference is purely in the detail kit: Cross Knurl has a diamond cut cross hatch pattern on the knob, Linear Knurl has fine straight ridges running across it instead.

Can I dim any LED bulb with this switch?
