A Single Gang Plate for One 45mm Module

This 1G plate is machined from solid stainless steel and cut for a single 45mm module opening, the format Buster + Punch uses for data, USB and media style inserts rather than dimmer or toggle switches. It gives one connection point a solid metal face instead of a plastic faceplate.

How It Works

This plate carries one 45mm module opening, sized for a single 45mm data, USB or similar module, not a dimmer or toggle, which use a different module format. The plate itself has no switching or connection function, it simply holds and frames whichever compatible 45mm module is fitted into it. Wiring any module into a working circuit is electrical work, and it should always be carried out by a qualified electrician.

A 45mm data or USB module is a newer format than domestic wiring conventions ever accounted for, yet this plate still gets finished in solid machined metal rather than the moulded plastic most modern faceplates use. That's the same instinct Massimo Buster Minale brought to Buster + Punch when he founded it in 2013: he'd left practices including Foster + Partners and Richard Rogers to spend his evenings machining motorbike parts by hand in a Shoreditch garage, and never really stopped machining things himself afterwards.

No. This plate is cut for the 45mm module format used for data, USB and similar inserts. Dimmer and toggle modules use a different plate cut, so choose the dimmer or toggle version instead if that is what you need.

No, the plate is sold on its own. A compatible 45mm module is needed to give it a function and is sold separately.
