A Single Gang Plate for One Dimmer or Toggle

This 1G plate is machined from solid stainless steel and cut for one dimmer or one toggle module. It is the visible metal base of a single switch position, built to the same solid, machined standard as the rest of Buster + Punch's electricity range.

Choose Your Finish

Available in Black, Brass, Smoked Bronze, Steel or White. Since the module and detail kit are chosen separately, the plate finish can be matched to them or set against them, black plate with a brass knurl knob, for example, or steel throughout for a single tonal look.

How It Works

On its own, this plate has no switching function. It is paired with a single compatible Buster + Punch dimmer or toggle module, plus the matching detail kit, to make a working switch. The plate holds and frames the module, but the wiring and the module itself do the actual switching. Fitting this into a working circuit is electrical work, so it should always be carried out by a qualified electrician.

A single gang plate suits any spot where one circuit needs one control, a bedroom pendant, a run of hallway downlights, or a lamp wired on its own switch. Where a wall position needs to control more than one circuit, the plates cut for two dimmers or two toggles in this range group multiple modules behind one wider face.

This plate is one machined component in a system built from separate solid metal parts, which is why the finish in front of you can be swapped later without replacing the module or switch behind it. Buster + Punch has worked that way since 2013, when architect Massimo Buster Minale, who had spent time at practices including Foster + Partners and Richard Rogers, started hand building motorbikes in a Shoreditch garage and machining the parts himself rather than sourcing them ready made.
