A Linear Pendant That Also Quiets the Room

The Noren S/123.2 Wide is an acoustic pendant that spans 123cm across a room, built to soften noise as much as it lights a space. Its wide profile increases the felt surface facing the room, so it absorbs more sound than a narrower Noren while still reading as a clean, linear fixture overhead.

Built to Absorb As Well As Illuminate

Inside an aluminium frame sits a core of Basotect sound absorbing foam, wrapped in a fire resistant fabric shell and finished with MDF detailing. The Terracotta fabric gives it a warm, earthy tone that sits comfortably against timber, brick or plaster, rather than the cooler grey or white finishes more common on acoustic fittings.

How It Works

An integrated LED runs at 95 CRI and 3000K warm white, so colours read true underneath it. Choose Down Lighting for a fitting that only casts light downward, or Up and Down Lighting for a version that also lifts light onto the ceiling, useful in rooms where you want some ambient glow bounced back down. Downlighting draws 15.3W for 2295 lumens, while the uplight element on the dual lighting model adds 7W and 1040 lumens. It's DALI dimmable and the drop adjusts from 1200mm to 3700mm, so it can be set for a low ceiling or a much taller room.

Where It Works Best

Its scale and acoustic performance suit open plan offices, meeting rooms and commercial interiors where hard surfaces would otherwise let noise carry, as well as dining or living spaces looking for a linear pendant with a point of difference over a standard fitting.

Made By Bover

Bover began in Barcelona in 1996, when Joana Bover sketched a design for an architect friend's project and went on to found the brand around it. It's still designed and produced in Spain, based in Cardedeu near Barcelona, working with a Mediterranean design sensibility that spans hand woven outdoor pieces and, as with the Noren, more technical indoor fittings. Bover opened a US subsidiary in Atlanta in 2012.

What's the difference between the Down Lighting and Up and Down Lighting versions?
Down Lighting casts light only downward into the room, while Up and Down Lighting adds a second element that lifts light onto the ceiling for a softer, more ambient effect.
