The Walton medium ceiling pendant is a single light fitting built around a rounded metal frame and a clear glass shade. It is an easy piece to place because the drop is adjustable, so you can set the shade higher for a room light or lower to sit over a table or island. The clear glass keeps the light open and unfussy rather than hidden away, which suits rooms where you want a fitting that reads as tidy and considered without drawing too much attention to itself.

The bright nickel and clear glass finish

This version pairs a bright nickel metal frame with a clear glass shade, giving a cooler, more polished look than a warmer brass or bronze finish. The metalwork is smooth rather than textured, so it sits comfortably alongside chrome taps, stainless steel appliances or other nickel and silver toned fittings already in the room, and the clear glass means the bulb itself becomes part of the look, so it is worth choosing a bulb shape you are happy to see.

How the Walton pendant works

It takes a single 10W LED bulb with an E27 fitting, which is not supplied, so you will need to pick one up separately. The fitting is dimmable, but only if you use dimmable bulbs, so check this when buying bulbs if you want that option. Electrically it is rated Class I, meaning it must be properly earthed as part of installation. As with any mains wired ceiling light, we would recommend having it fitted by a registered NICEIC electrician rather than tackling the wiring yourself.

Where this pendant works best

Because it is a single, self contained light rather than part of a cluster, the Walton works well as a central or secondary light in living rooms, kitchens, bedrooms, dining rooms and hallways. Use the adjustable drop to bring it low over a dining table or kitchen island, or keep it higher for general room lighting in a bedroom or hallway.
