Utopia Stripe Table Lamp - Turquoise Glass And Gold Shade

The Utopia Stripe Table Lamp pairs a fluted turquoise glass base with a soft gold fabric shade, giving it a warm glow with a bit of colour and texture that a plain glass lamp doesn't have. It's a single light fitting, so it works well as an accent lamp on a side table or console rather than a main source of light in the room.

The turquoise and gold finish

The base is blown glass in a ribbed, striped turquoise finish, which is where the lamp gets its name, set on a steel fitting. The shade is fabric in gold, chosen to pick out the warmth of the glass rather than compete with it. As with any glass and fabric piece made this way, expect a little natural variation from lamp to lamp, which is part of the charm rather than a flaw.

How this table lamp works

It takes a single E27 bulb, up to 10W if you're using LED, and the bulb itself isn't included so you can choose the warmth and brightness that suits the room. It isn't a dimmable fitting, so it's a straightforward on and off lamp rather than one for mood lighting adjustments. As a table lamp it simply plugs into a standard wall socket, so there's no wiring or installation to arrange, just add a bulb and place it where you like.

Being rated IP20, this lamp is designed for dry indoor rooms only, so keep it away from bathrooms or anywhere it might get splashed. It suits living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms and hallways particularly well, wherever you want a pool of warm light on a side table, sideboard or console rather than overhead lighting.
