The Utopia Drip semi flush ceiling light is built around three curving arms that reach outward from a central ceiling plate, each one cradling a piece of tinted glass. Because it sits close to the ceiling rather than hanging down on a rod or chain, it works well in rooms where you want a bit of sculptural presence overhead without losing headroom.

Aged gold finish with champagne tinted glass

This version pairs an aged gold frame with champagne tinted glass shades. The gold finish is applied by hand, so expect some gentle variation from piece to piece rather than a perfectly uniform surface, and the tinted glass softens the light rather than casting it stark and white. Together they lean toward a warmer, more traditional look that sits comfortably alongside brass or antique hardware elsewhere in the room.

How this semi flush ceiling light works

The fitting takes three E14 candle bulbs, or LED equivalents, which are not supplied so you can choose the colour temperature and finish that suits the room. It's dimmable if you fit dimmable bulbs. The body is made from steel and glass. As with any mains wired light, we'd recommend having it installed by a registered NICEIC electrician, and since it weighs 3.6kg, it's worth checking that your ceiling fixing point can take the weight before you hang it.

Where it works best

Its low profile and warm glass tone make it a natural fit for living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms and hallways, particularly where a pendant would hang too low or feel too heavy for the space. It's rated IP20, so it's designed for dry indoor rooms only rather than bathrooms or anywhere with direct exposure to moisture.
