A Slim 48cm Wall Light for Hallways
The Tooy Pilar & Viga vertical wall light in this size is designed by Marco Casamonti of Studio Archea and stands approximately 48.5cm high, 16cm wide and 15cm deep. It is a tall, narrow wall light for a hallway or a spot beside a bed, and it sends light up and down along the wall. It reads as a column of light rather than a lamp.
Beige and Bronzed Steel Finishes
Beige gives a pale, soft column that sits calmly against painted walls and plaster. Bronzed Steel is deeper and more defined, with warm metal tones that look good against stone, timber or dark paint. The same finish runs the full height of the fitting.
How it works
An 8.5W LED is built in at 2700K and gives around 500 lumens of warm white light, so there are no bulbs to buy. We do not have dimming details for this version, so please ask us if dimming matters to you. It is wall mounted. A qualified electrician should always install this fitting.
Where it works best
Use it as a wall light for a hallway, up a stairwell, beside a headboard or either side of a sofa. The output is soft, so it adds mood and shape rather than task lighting. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry indoor rooms only.
The story behind Tooy
Italian brand Tooy was set up in 2015 by Valeria Giacomozzi and Valerio Tidei in the Marche region. It grew out of Gibas, the Giacomozzi family company that has made tailor made lighting in Marche since 1959. Corrado Dotti has been creative director since 2017, and Tooy lamps are made in Italy. For Structure, Tooy worked with architect Marco Casamonti of Studio Archea.
