TOOY Nastro Pendant Light - Small

The Nastro collection by Tooy is built around one of the most distinctive structural ideas in the range — a curved aluminium band, finished in a powder coated colour, that forms both the body of the fitting and the defining visual element of its character. Where most pendant lights use a shade or diffuser to contain and direct the light source, the Nastro uses its curved aluminium band as an architectural gesture — a sweeping form that holds the light at its centre and radiates warmth outward from within the curve.

At the small size this pendant is a fitting of considered intimacy — the curved band producing a quality of warm, focused downward light that suits a dining table for two or four, a kitchen worktop, a bedside position or any space where a compact but characterful source of directed light is the right answer. The aluminium band in its powder coated finish has a quality of material precision that rewards close attention — the slight curve of the form giving the fitting a sense of movement and direction that flat disc or conical pendants cannot achieve.

The Nastro's colour system is one of its most compelling features. The band itself is available in beige, terracotta, greenish grey or sand black — each a considered, contemporary tone that moves away from the standard black or white of most pendant collections and introduces a quality of colour intelligence that makes the fitting feel genuinely curated. The inner detail is available in a separate colour including brushed brass, giving the combination a material depth that a single finish cannot provide. A terracotta band with brushed brass inner, a sand black band with greenish grey inner, a beige band throughout — each combination produces a fitting of entirely different character within the same essential form.

Made to order in Tooy's workshop in the Marche region of Italy, where the Giacomozzi family's manufacturing heritage ensures that the aluminium work, the powder coat finish and the assembly are all produced with the craft quality the Nastro's formal intelligence deserves.
