TOOY Nastro Pendant Light - Large

The large Nastro pendant is the collection's curved aluminium band at its most expansive and spatially confident — a fitting of genuine scale that fills a high ceilinged room or generous open plan space with a quality of architectural presence that smaller pendants, however well designed, cannot achieve. The sweeping aluminium curve at this size becomes a statement object in its own right, its form as much a visual element of the room as the furniture and materials below it.

This is a pendant for double height dining rooms, generous kitchen spaces with island seating, large living areas with aspirations toward a proper centrepiece, and any interior where the ceiling is high enough and the space generous enough to allow a fitting of this scale to breathe. The curved band at large scale produces a quality of warm, wide downward light that fills a substantial surface area below it with an evenness and richness that smaller pendant formats cannot match.

The colour system of the Nastro is at its most powerful at this scale — the large aluminium band in terracotta, greenish grey, sand black or beige becoming a genuinely architectural element of the interior, the colour of the band as much a design decision as the colour of the walls or the material of the flooring. A large Nastro in terracotta with brushed brass inner detail, hung above a dining table with a warm, natural material palette below, is one of those lighting installations that people notice and remember.

Made to order in Italy at Tooy's Marche workshop, where the Giacomozzi family's manufacturing heritage ensures that a fitting of this scale is produced with the precision, material quality and finish consistency the design demands.
