A Quiet Fabric Wall Light on a Compact Arm
The Tooy Lilly wall light is designed by Corrado Dotti and is the most restrained piece in the Lilly range. A small fabric and net shade, about 22cm across and 22cm high, sits on a short arm that projects 30cm from the wall. The soft light it gives is a gentle option for a bedside wall light or a wall light for a hallway.
Beige Fabric, Black Net, Sand Black
There is a single finish. The arm and backplate are Sand Black powder coated metal, and the shade is beige fabric under a black net. Together they give the wall a gentle texture without adding visual weight.
How it works
The wall light takes one E27 bulb of up to 15W, which is not supplied. It dims if you fit a dimmable bulb and use a compatible dimmer. It fixes to the wall and is hard wired. A qualified electrician should always install this fitting.
Where it works best
Mount a pair either side of a bed, or use one beside a reading chair, along a corridor or on a landing. The shade projects 30cm, so allow for that in narrow spaces. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry indoor rooms only.
The story behind Tooy
Valeria Giacomozzi and Valerio Tidei started Tooy in 2015 in Italy's Marche region. It grew out of Gibas, the Giacomozzi family lighting company that has made tailor made lighting in Marche since 1959. Corrado Dotti, who trained with Matteo Thun and then Armani Casa before opening his own studio in 2009, has been the brand's creative director since 2017. Tooy lamps are made in Italy.
