The Lilly floor lamp by Tooy does something more than that. The tall, slender sand black powder coated metal stem carries the fabric and micro mesh diffuser to standing height, and the warm, even, thoroughly gentle light that the beige fabric and black net produce at that level changes the quality of the room around it in a way that is felt before it is understood.
The light from the Lilly floor lamp is ambient in the best sense — it fills the space between furniture and ceiling with a warmth that makes a sitting room feel inhabited and calm, and it does so without the directional harshness of an uplighter or the concentrated brightness of a reading lamp.
