A Small Blown Glass Pendant with Murano Roots
The Tooy Legier 25cm suspension pendant is designed by Corrado Dotti and takes its shape from the elegant glass vessels of Murano tradition. This is the smaller of the two Legier pendants, a rounded blown glass globe about 25cm across and 33cm high, hung from a 150cm cable. It is a good glass pendant light for a bedside, a hallway or a pair above a kitchen counter, where a quiet shape matters more than size.
Smoke or Opal Glass, Grey or Brass Ring
Every version has a Sand Black powder coated metal frame. You then choose the glass and the ring. Opal White glass gives a soft, even glow, while Smoke glass is darker and moodier and gives the light a warm, amber tint. The ring comes in Light Grey for a cool, understated look, or Brushed Brass for a warmer accent against the black.
How it works
The light source is built in, an integrated LED of about 8.2W at 2700K that gives around 1375 lumens of warm white light. It is dimmable on a phase cut dimmer, and you will never need to buy or change a bulb. The pendant hangs from a ceiling fixing on a 150cm fabric cable. A qualified electrician should always install this fitting.
Where it works best
At this size it suits a bedside, a landing, a hallway or a small dining nook. Hang two or three at different heights for a more layered look over a counter. It is rated IP40, so it is for dry indoor rooms only.
The story behind Tooy
Tooy was started in 2015 by Valeria Giacomozzi and Valerio Tidei in Italy's Marche region. It grew out of Gibas, the Giacomozzi family lighting company that has made tailor made lighting in Marche since 1959. Corrado Dotti, who trained with Matteo Thun and then Armani Casa before opening his own studio in 2009, has been the brand's creative director since 2017. Tooy lamps are made in Italy.
