A Large Semi Flush Light, Over 80cm Long
The Tooy Bolina Semi Flush Ceiling Light Large is designed by Fabio Fantolino and carries the Bolina sailing inspiration, glass and leather, to a bigger scale. It is also a genuinely large fitting: it measures approximately 83cm long, 50cm wide and 25cm high. It is made for generous dining rooms, large kitchens and open plan spaces, as a semi flush ceiling light with a lot of presence.
Amber Warmth or Satin White Calm
Both versions have a dark bronze frame. Caramel nabuk leather with amber glass gives a golden, enveloping light and a rich appearance. Light Beige nabuk leather with satin white glass reads cooler and cleaner, with a soft, even brightness. Over this size of glass, the choice makes a real difference to the mood of the room.
How it works
A built in 45W LED at 3000K gives about 9750 lumens, so no bulbs are needed. It is dimmable using DALI 2 and Push controls. It fixes to the ceiling, and because it weighs around 11kg, the installer should check the ceiling fixing. A qualified electrician should always install this fitting.
Where it works best
Centre it over a large dining table, a big island or in a wide hall with a good ceiling. The output is high enough to light a whole room, so it works well as the main light. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry indoor rooms only.
The story behind Tooy
Tooy was founded in 2015 in Italy's Marche region by Valeria Giacomozzi and Valerio Tidei. The company began as a spin off from Gibas, the Giacomozzi family lighting company that has made tailor made lighting in Marche since 1959. Corrado Dotti has been creative director since 2017, and Tooy lamps are made in Italy.
