TOOY Bilancella Pendant Light - 25cm

There is something quietly radical about a lamp that commits entirely to the idea of a single line. The Bilancella 25cm pendant by Roberto Giacomucci for Tooy does exactly that — reducing the act of lighting to its most elemental form. A slim, precisely proportioned aluminium bar holds the light source at one end, suspended from a ceiling rose at the other, and in doing so creates a fitting that occupies space with a kind of deliberate stillness. Nothing is decorative that does not need to be. Everything you see is structural.

The result is a lamp that gives generously without drawing attention to itself. Light falls in a controlled, directed way — downward and focused — making it well suited to dining tables, kitchen islands, reading corners and any situation where you want the quality of the light to do the talking rather than the object producing it. At 25cm it is a fitting that works beautifully in smaller spaces or as one element in a composed group, where a series of Bilancella pendants hung at varying heights creates a rhythm that is both architectural and intimate.

Made to order in Italy, the Bilancella is produced in Tooy's workshop in the Marche region, a part of central Italy with a long tradition of precision manufacturing and artisanal craft. Every fitting is made specifically for the order placed, in a choice of sand black or satin bronze. The sand black finish is cool and contemporary, sitting naturally in modern interiors alongside stone, concrete and raw timber. The satin bronze is warmer and more characterful, ageing beautifully in residential settings where texture and material depth matter.

Tooy was founded in 2015 by Valeria Giacomozzi and Valerio Tidei, building on over six decades of manufacturing knowledge inherited from the Giacomozzi family's lighting company Gibas, which has been producing lighting in the Marche since 1959. That heritage is present in every detail of the Bilancella — in the quality of the metalwork, the precision of the finish, and the confidence of a design that knows exactly what it is.
