TOOY Bilancella Ceiling or Wall Light

The Bilancella collection by Roberto Giacomucci is built on the conviction that light, at its most resolved, needs nothing more than a single precise line to make itself felt. The ceiling and wall version of this fitting takes that conviction and applies it to a surface mounted form — a slim powder coated metal arm that projects cleanly from the wall or ceiling, holds the light source at its end, and leaves everything else to the quality of what it produces.

As a wall light it works in corridors, beside beds, flanking mirrors or artwork, or anywhere that a directional source of warm, focused light is needed without the intrusion of a large fitting. As a ceiling light it sits flush and discreet, directing light downward with precision — ideal for lower ceilinged spaces, bathrooms, and rooms where a pendant would feel too dominant.

What makes this fitting particularly versatile is the dual application. The same piece can serve very different purposes depending on how and where it is mounted, which makes it a practical as well as a beautiful choice for designers and architects working across varied spaces within a single project. A series of Bilancella wall lights mounted at consistent heights along a corridor, or a single fitting positioned beside a bedhead, each produces a result that feels considered and resolved.

The fitting is available in sand black and satin bronze. Both finishes reflect Tooy's commitment to material quality — applied in their Marche workshop where the brand has been producing lighting since its founding in 2015, drawing on the Giacomozzi family's deep roots in Italian craft manufacturing going back to 1959. Gibas, the family's original company, built a reputation over more than six decades for producing lighting where the quality of the object matched the quality of the light it gave. That ethos runs directly through the Bilancella today.
