The Topo Table Lamp with Base in chrome is a freestanding version of Joe Colombo's classic design, sitting on its own weighted metal foot rather than clamping to a surface.

Chrome finish

The shell still carries the slits inspired by the cooling vents on 1960s sports cars, and the shade curves around its E27 bulb like bodywork wrapped around an engine, all finished in bright chrome for a crisp, reflective look.

How it works

The jointed arm still does all the work of an adjustable lamp: it extends and folds so you can bring the head close for reading or push it upward and outward for softer, more general light.

Where it works best

Because it stands rather than clamps, it's an easy fit for a console table or sideboard as well as a desk.

The story behind Stilnovo

Stilnovo was founded in Milan in 1946 by Bruno Gatta, and this freestanding version shows Joe Colombo's Topo design adapted for rooms without a desk edge to clamp onto.
