A Softer Line for Your Kitchen Island
The Talbot pendant swaps the usual rigid rod for a black textile covered cable, so the single drop hangs with a relaxed, slightly looser line than a standard suspension light. The chrome fitting at the top keeps things bright and contemporary, while the exposed cable and bulb give it an honest, unfussy look that works equally well on its own or repeated in a row.
Materials and Finish
The suspension kit is made from mild steel and aluminium, finished in polished chrome with a black textile cable running down to the lamp holder. Nothing here is dressed up with a shade, so the finish and the cable itself are very much part of the look.
How It Works
It takes a single 60W E27 GLS bulb, not included, so you can choose your own shape and warmth, an LED filament bulb suits the exposed design particularly well. The pendant is dimmable, either through an external dimmer switch or by fitting LED dimmable bulbs. The cable itself is adjustable up to a maximum drop of 300cm, which makes it easy to set the right height above a worktop or table. As a Class I fixture it needs to be earthed, so we would always recommend installation by a registered NICEIC electrician.

The long adjustable drop makes this a natural fit for kitchen islands and dining tables, where a precise hanging height matters. Group two or three together over an island for a run of matching pendants, or hang a single one over a table for something simpler.

This pendant comes from Searchlight Electric, a family run British lighting company that Sidney Hamburger founded in Salford back in 1945. The business moved to Manchester in 1949 and is still run today by the third generation of the same family.
