The Swizzle table lamp turns a simple idea into a real focal point. Rows of slim glass rods run the full height of the base, catching the light and adding movement to what would otherwise be a plain metal column.

This version pairs a gold finish rod base with a plain white linen drum shade. The linen has a soft, natural texture that keeps the light gentle rather than glary, and the gold base gives it a bit of shine without feeling showy. It sits well against warm wood, pale stone or plain painted walls.

• Takes 1 x E27 bulb, around 4W LED (40W incandescent equivalent), sold separately

Where It Works Best

As a gold table lamp it suits console tables, sideboards and desks where the rod base can be seen properly. Stand two either side of a bed for balanced bedside lighting in a main or guest bedroom, or use it on its own in a living room, dining room or hallway for a small pool of warm, ambient light.

Is the Swizzle table lamp dimmable?
No. This lamp is not dimmable, so it runs at a fixed brightness once switched on.

What bulb does it take?
It takes a single E27 bulb. We would suggest an LED bulb of around 4W, which gives a similar brightness to an old 40W incandescent bulb, and the bulb is sold separately.

Can I use two of these as bedside lamps?
Yes. The gold base and white linen shade work well as a pair, one on each bedside table, for even lighting on both sides of the bed.

Is the base real glass?
Yes. The vertical rods around the base are glass, set into a gold finished metal frame.
