The Swizzle floor lamp swaps a plain fabric shade for a sculptural drum made entirely of vertical glass rods. Stood at just over a metre and a half tall, it has enough scale to anchor a corner of a room, and the exposed bulb glows through the rods rather than being hidden behind fabric.

Matt Black With Smoked Glass Rods

This version pairs a matt black metal stem and base with smoked glass rods in the shade. The darker glass gives the light a slightly moodier, more atmospheric quality than a clear or pale rod would, while the matt black frame keeps the whole silhouette graphic and modern against a plain wall.

Where It Works Best

As a matt black floor lamp it works well in a living room corner, beside a sofa or armchair, or next to a bed where you want ambient light without a table lamp taking up surface space. Questions People Ask

What bulb does it take?
It takes a single E27 bulb. We would suggest an LED bulb of around 6W, which gives a similar brightness to an old 60W incandescent bulb, and the bulb is sold separately.

Is the shade fabric or glass?
The shade is made entirely of vertical smoked glass rods rather than fabric, so the bulb is visible and the light comes through in soft vertical bands.

How tall is this floor lamp?
It stands 152cm tall with a 38cm wide shade, so it suits a corner or the side of a sofa where a tall lamp has room to stand.

Will the smoked glass make the room darker than a clear shade?
The smoked glass rods let out slightly less light than clear glass would, giving a warmer, more atmospheric glow rather than a bright, even light.
