This large bell shaped shade is hand woven from natural rattan in a fine crosshatch lattice, left in its natural black tone. Hung above a bulb, the open weave throws intricate geometric shadows across the ceiling and walls, turning a plain fitting into a real feature.

The rattan is woven in a tight diagonal lattice that tapers into a narrow gathered neck at the top, where it grips onto a standard lamp holder. Left unfinished rather than painted, the natural rattan shows through as a warm undertone beneath the black weave, so the shade has real depth and texture rather than a flat, uniform colour.
