The Burnt Orange Shade
This version pairs the matte black ring base with a burnt orange velvet tapered shade. The velvet has a warm, terracotta toned finish with a soft nap, and it catches the light unevenly in a way a flat printed shade never does. A slim brass coloured collar connects the shade to the ring, echoing the warmth of the burnt orange. It's a confident choice for rooms built around warm, autumnal colours, terracotta, rust, chocolate brown or olive green.

The rectangular plinth base keeps it stable on a bedside table, and the tall silhouette means the light sits well above eye level when you're sat up in bed reading. It takes a single E27 bulb, sold separately. An LED bulb of around 6W (equivalent to a 60W incandescent) gives a warm, comfortable level of light for a table lamp.
