A Smoky, Sculptural Glass Base
The Devon table lamp in black is built around a frosted, smoky grey teardrop shaped glass base with a soft dimpled texture, finished with a slim chrome collar at the neck. It has a quiet, sculptural feel that works well as a modern update to a classic table lamp shape.
Black Glass and a Black Linen Shade
A black linen drum shade sits on top, giving the whole lamp a strong, graphic silhouette rather than a soft glow. It suits a pared back, modern interior where you want the lamp itself to read as an object rather than disappear into the background.
How It Works
- Takes 1 x E27 bulb, not supplied. We would suggest a bulb of around 6W LED (60W incandescent equivalent), and any standard E27 LED bulb will fit.
- Class II double insulated, so no earth connection is needed.
- Freestanding design, simply plug into any standard UK socket.
- The glass base alone stands around 23cm tall on a 28cm footprint, before the shade is added on top.

The black colourway suits a living room console, a dining room sideboard, a bedside table or a hallway console where you want a darker, more graphic accent than a pale lamp would give. It reads equally well as a single lamp or a pair either side of a bed or sofa.

This lamp comes from Searchlight Electric, a family run British lighting company founded by Sidney Hamburger in Salford in 1945. It has been based in Manchester since 1949, and the same family still runs it, now in its third generation.
