A Striking Two Way Glow for Outdoor Walls

The Detroit wall light throws light both up and down at once, using a ribbed cylindrical shade that turns a plain wall into a feature. It works well either side of a front door, along a garden path, or against a garage wall where you want both practical illumination and a bit of drama after dark.

Black Aluminium with a Ribbed Finish

This version comes in a matt black finish over an aluminium and polycarbonate body. The vertical fin detailing around the shade lets light escape in narrow stripes rather than a single flood, casting a soft striped pattern up the wall above and below the fixture. The matt black coating is finished to resist scratches and corrosion, and the IP44 rating means it can cope with rain and general weather exposure.

• Wall mounted on a fixed backplate, wired into your outdoor lighting circuit

This is an outdoor fixture through and through, suited to front entrances, side passages, garden walls, and anywhere you want to mark out a wall with light rather than just flood the space. Fitted in pairs either side of a door or garage opening, the striped light pattern reads well from the street and helps with wayfinding after dark.

Does this light shine both up and down at the same time?
Yes. The Detroit uses two separate GU10 bulbs, one aimed up and one aimed down, so both directions are lit whenever the fixture is switched on.

Can I use this on an exposed exterior wall?
Yes. It has an IP44 rating, which covers splashing rain and general outdoor weather, making it suitable for most exterior wall locations.
