What does the IP44 rating mean for this light?
IP44 means the fitting is protected against splashing water from any direction, so it's fine in a sheltered spot like a porch or covered entrance. It isn't rated for direct, driving rain, so avoid fully exposed walls.
What bulb does the Barnet wall light need?
It takes a single E27 (Edison screw) candle bulb rated up to 60W. The bulb isn't included, so you'll need to add one when you order.
Can I use a dimmer switch with this light?
Yes, the fitting is dimmable, but only if you fit a dimmable E27 bulb. A standard non-dimmable bulb won't work properly on a dimmer circuit.
Do I need an electrician to install it?
Yes. It's Class I, which means it must be earthed, so installation by a qualified electrician, ideally NICEIC registered, is recommended.
Will the black finish hold up outdoors?
