Two Different Scales, Held in Tension

A 200mm glass globe and a 150mm glass globe are suspended from a single pivoting brass arm, their difference in scale held in check by the careful engineering of the mount. Where the 150x150 finds its interest in matched symmetry, the Balance 200x150 introduces a deliberate asymmetry, two forms of different weight held in equilibrium, giving the fitting a sense of quiet tension that the equal sized version doesn't have.

Transparent Glass, Structure on Display

Both globes are mouth blown from clear glass, so the pivot mechanism and the LED capsule bulbs inside each globe are fully visible rather than concealed behind a diffusing shade. The clear glass makes the balancing act between the two different sized globes legible at a glance, turning the fitting's engineering into part of its visual appeal.

Choose Your Finish

The pivoting arm is available in Black Gunmetal, Lacquered Burnished Brass, or Polished Nickel, letting the metal tone either match or contrast with the room's existing brass and metalwork.

How It Works

Each globe takes a G4 LED capsule bulb (included), rated at a maximum of 1.6W at 12V and around 180 lumens per bulb, at a warm 2700K, dimmable only with electronic ELV or trailing edge dimmers. Extension rods are included, allowing the drop to be set across a range of ceiling heights, from around 73cm up to approximately 160cm. The fitting has an overall width of around 90.5cm and weighs approximately 2.5kg fully assembled.

Where It Works Best

Above a side table, a kitchen island, or hung singly as a considered accent where the asymmetry of two different globe sizes adds visual interest rather than symmetry. Pairs of the 200x150 hung with the globes facing opposite directions can also read well above a longer surface.

Schwung was founded in 2014 in Namyslow, Poland, by Belgian designer Dominique Sente and Dutch designer Rudi Nijssen. The Balance 200x150 is made to order in solid brass and mouth blown glass at the Namyslow workshop, its pivoting arm engineered to hold two differently sized globes in a stable, visually legible balance.

Questions People Ask

Which globe is larger, and does it matter which side it hangs?
The 200mm globe is the larger of the pair. The arm is designed with a specific pivot point for each globe, so the arrangement is fixed as supplied rather than reversible.

How does this differ from the 150x150 version?
The 150x150 uses two matching 150mm globes for a symmetrical look, while the 200x150 pairs a 200mm globe with a 150mm one, creating an asymmetrical composition with a different visual weight on either side.

Will this work as a single pendant over a small table?
Yes, its asymmetry means it can work well as a standalone accent over a side table or small dining setting, not just as part of a repeated run.
