Kami only comes in this Vintage Bronze finish, so the choice here is really about the glass itself. Look closely at the photos and you will see amber and caramel panels doing most of the work, with pockets of deep green leaf glass and small purple florets breaking up the pattern, each piece held by hand cut lead lines and finished with round glass jewels in amber and deep red. The metal rim and ceiling plate are cast in a matching bronze tone so the fitting reads as one piece rather than glass sat inside a frame.

How It Works

Two E27 lamps sit behind the glass, and bulbs are not included so you can choose your own colour temperature. It is Class I, which means it needs an earth connection, and dimming only works if you fit dimmable bulbs and pair the fitting with a compatible dimmer switch. The dome measures 42.1cm across and 15.1cm deep. At 3.6kg it has some heft, being handmade from actual glass rather than a printed lookalike, so get a second pair of hands when you lift it into place. This is a hardwired ceiling fitting and should go up by a qualified electrician.

Where It Works Best

Flush to the ceiling means Kami suits rooms with lower head height, hallways, over a dining table where you do not want a low hanging shade, or a bedroom ceiling where a pendant would sit too close to the bed. It works equally well in a living room, kitchen or dining room. Unlike the Kami pendant, which drops on an adjustable chain, this version has no drop to set at all, and unlike the wall uplighter it throws light down and out across the whole ceiling area rather than up a wall.
