A Smaller Glow By the Door
The Inglenook small wall lantern brings the same amber and cream art glass down to a more compact scale, a neat pitched roof lantern that suits a narrower porch, a side door or a run of matching fittings along a wall.
The Valiant Bronze Finish
Offered in one finish, Valiant Bronze, a dark bronze frame, roof and wrought arm. The glass panels carry the family's geometric pattern in miniature, amber and honey tones fanning down from the roof edge into pale cream, with lilac and sapphire accents at the base and small red squares marking the centre point. Being hand leaded glass, small variations between panels are normal.
How It Works
One E27 lamp sits inside, bulbs not supplied. It is Class I, so it needs an earth connection, and will dim only with a dimmable E27 bulb fitted, as the lantern itself has no built in dimmer. It carries an IP44 rating, giving genuine protection against rain and splashing water on an outside wall. At 2.6kg it is the lighter of the two Inglenook wall lanterns, mounted on its own wrought arm, and as a hardwired fitting it should be fitted by a qualified electrician.
Where It Works Best
At 17.8cm wide and 22.6cm deep, this is the smaller of the two Inglenook outdoor lanterns, better suited to a narrow porch, a cottage style door or a pair either side of a modest entrance than the wider medium lantern. It stays an outdoor fitting throughout, for porches, garden walls and entrances rather than indoor rooms.
The Glass That Built Quoizel's Name
Quoizel built much of its reputation on Tiffany style stained glass work, taking the technique beyond table lamps and into hardwired chandeliers, pendants and wall fittings like this one. It is a specialism the company has kept close to its original 1930s roots as a small Manhattan lamp maker, long before it wired up for electric light.

Questions People Ask
How does this compare to the medium Inglenook wall lantern? Both use the same glass pattern and a single E27 lamp, but this small version has a narrower frame, so it suits a tighter porch or a pair of fittings either side of a door.
Will it dim? Only if you fit a dimmable E27 bulb. There is no dimmer built into the fitting itself.
Is it weatherproof enough for outdoor use? The IP44 rating protects it against splashing water and rain, which is what you want on a covered or moderately exposed exterior wall.
