A Lantern That Holds Its Ground
The Inglenook medium wall lantern hangs from a curved wrought arm and lights up a doorway or gatepost with the same hand cut Arts and Crafts glass as the rest of the range, amber and cream panels banded in olive green under a pitched bronze roof.
The Valiant Bronze Finish
This SKU comes in a single finish, Valiant Bronze, a dark aged bronze across the roof, arm and frame. The glass panels repeat a geometric sunburst, amber and honey tones stepping down from the roofline into pale cream at the base, divided by bands of olive green with small red accent squares. As with all hand leaded glass, expect gentle variation in shade and grain between panels.
How It Works
One E27 lamp sits inside the lantern, bulbs not supplied. The fitting is Class I, so it needs an earth connection, and will dim only if you fit a dimmable E27 bulb, since there is no dimmer built into the fixture. It carries an IP44 rating, giving it protection against splashing water and driving rain, which is what you want from a fitting mounted on an exposed wall. At 3.5kg it mounts on a wrought arm fixed to the wall, and as a hardwired fitting it should be installed by a qualified electrician.
Where It Works Best
At 31.4cm high, 21.5cm wide and 26.1cm deep, this is the larger of the two Inglenook outdoor wall lanterns, with enough presence to flank a front door or light a wide gatepost. Its smaller sibling, the Inglenook small wall lantern, is more compact and suits a narrower porch or a run of several fittings along a wall. Either way this stays firmly an outdoor fitting, for porches, entrances and garden walls rather than indoor rooms.
South Carolina Roots
Quoizel moved its headquarters, manufacturing and distribution out of New York in 1996, into a 305,000 square foot facility near Charleston, South Carolina, where the company still operates today. The design studio has stayed there ever since, and the low country light and landscape continue to feed its work.

Questions People Ask
How does this differ from the small Inglenook wall lantern? They share the same glass style and single E27 lamp, but this medium version is taller and wider, at 31.4cm high against the small lantern's narrower frame, so it suits a bigger door surround or gatepost.
Is it suitable for a coastal or exposed wall? The IP44 rating protects it against splashing water and rain, making it a reasonable choice for a sheltered exterior wall, though very exposed coastal positions are always harder on any painted metal fitting.
Does it come with a bulb? No, you will need one E27 lamp, and a dimmable one if you want to dim the fitting.
