Quintiesse Valise Large LED Picture Light - Vintage Brass & Tuxedo Leather

The Valise Large Picture Light in tuxedo leather takes the collection's vintage luggage inspired detailing and gives it a darker, more formal edge, its steel body wrapped in black vegan leather with vintage brass fittings at each end. It's built to throw an even wash of light across a large piece of art or a substantial mirror, projecting out from the wall rather than sitting flush against it.

Black tuxedo vegan leather wraps the body in a smooth, matte finish, stitched along the steel frame, with vintage brass detailing at the wall mount and along the frosted acrylic diffuser. The diffuser spreads the LED's light evenly along the fixture rather than letting it show as a single point source. Black and brass together tend to suit contemporary framed art, dark walls or gallery style hallways where a crisper contrast is wanted.

How it works

Light comes from an integrated 30W LED module rather than a separate bulb, so there's nothing to replace over time. It can be dimmed, but only when connected to a compatible dimmer switch on the circuit. This is a Class I fitting and needs an earthed supply, with installation carried out by a qualified electrician. As a fixed wall light there's no drop to set, the arm projects at a set 24.8cm from the wall.

Where it works best

At 80cm wide, this is the size for a large canvas or mirror where a shorter picture light would leave the edges in shadow. Quintiesse positions the Valise picture range for living rooms, dining rooms and hallways, and the black leather version in particular suits spaces with a more tailored, gallery like feel, where the fixture itself is allowed to read as a design detail rather than disappearing against the wall.
