Designed to light a piece of art rather than a room, the Valise Large Picture Light borrows its detailing from vintage luxury luggage, with a steel body wrapped in cognac vegan leather and capped with vintage brass fittings. It projects out from the wall on an arm long enough to throw an even wash of light down over a large canvas, print or mirror without casting harsh shadows.

Cognac vegan leather covers the fixture in a warm tan finish, stitched along a steel frame and set off by vintage brass at the mounting point and diffuser edge. A frosted acrylic diffuser runs along its length, spreading the LED's output evenly rather than as a single bright source. The tan and brass pairing suits gallery walls with wood framed art, leather furniture or warm toned interiors.

How it works

At this larger size, the light comes from an integrated 30W LED module, so there's no bulb to buy separately or ever need to replace. Dimming is possible, but only if the fixture is wired to a compatible dimmer switch, it isn't something built into the bulb since there isn't one to swap. This is a Class I fitting, so it must be connected to an earthed supply and fitted by a qualified electrician, and the fixed wall mounting means there's no drop to adjust.
