Quintiesse Samara Large Table Lamp - Smoke

Samara in smoke takes the collection's clear glass base and polished nickel steelwork and tops it with a hand made faux silk shade in a deep charcoal grey, giving the large 78.7cm lamp a moodier, more dramatic finish than its lighter siblings.

The smoke finish

The shade's smoky grey tone reads as sophisticated rather than heavy, and it throws a warmer, more contained pool of light than a pale shade would, which suits rooms built around dark wood, black metal or deep colour schemes. The clear glass base still catches the light beneath it, so the lamp keeps a sense of lightness even with the darker shade on top.

How it works

It runs from a single E27 LED bulb, not supplied, producing around 620Lm at a warm 3000K colour temperature. The 4 way switch lets you use the shade and the glass base as independent light sources, and dimming only works if a dimmable LED bulb is fitted. As a Class I fitting it needs an earthed supply, and installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician.

Where it works best

At 78.7cm and 7.9kg, this is a lamp for a proper console or side table rather than a small nightstand, well suited to a living room reading corner, a dining room sideboard where a lower level, warmer light is welcome, or a hallway console with a darker colour scheme.
